Gastón Acurio is a chef, writer, and entrepreneur, widely regarded as the leading ambassador of Peruvian cuisine worldwide. Trained in Madrid and Paris, he founded Astrid & Gastón in Lima in 1994, sparking a movement that reshaped how Peru understood and valued its culinary heritage. He is the creator of iconic brands such as La Mar, Tanta, Panchita, and Chicha, operating more than 70 restaurants across 10 countries. Acurio has authored influential cookbooks, founded the Pachacútec Culinary School for underprivileged youth, co-created Mistura food festival, and received multiple international awards for his cultural and social impact.
